Meet the Sage Staff
Rina Chang
CEO/Founder of Sage Health System
Rina has over 20 years of Geriatric and Cardiology experience in Nursing and over 15 years of Entrepreneurship.
With her clinical expertise, she wanted to address the growing need for impactful residential elderly care by founding Sage Garden, now serving as CEO and Administrator. Upon positive outcomes for her residents, she sought to expand her reach by opening her second RCFE, Sage Villa.
Most recently, she has curated a platform to provide concierge services to improve home health and home care services with a focus in combining holistic approaches to western medicine.
She’s also passionate about helping her community by opening the Sage nonprofit organization with a vision of assisting our healthcare students by providing grants and offering employment opportunities in San Diego.
She also has a vision of building a facility in the Philippines to assist end-of-life elderly and children in orphanages.

Jeff Wahl
Vice President
Jeff Wahl, VP of Sage Health System, comes with over 20 years of patient and physician focused healthcare experience. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University, San Diego, California.
Jeff’s vast leadership experience in the field will provide valuable contributions to the growth and success of Sage Health System. Jeff has spent his 20 plus years in the Cardiology field focusing on positive patient outcomes in both the clinical and surgical setting.
Experienced in educating patients and family members Pre and post procedures to ensure proper healing and maintenance using current health practices and technologies. Past President’s Club award recipient.
Cory Petty
Director of Patient Care Services
Cory is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with over 40 Years of Nursing Experience specializing in Critical Care, Cardiology, and Nephrology with a specialization in Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation. She was also an Educator conducting Kidney classes and option modalities and Transplantation. She was voted for and awarded the Daisy Award for her excellence in Nursing Care Delivery.
She joined Sage Health System to offer her expertise to foster professional, compassionate, and personalized care to achieve each client’s health goals upon discharge from the hospital or rehabilitation facility.
Sherwin Villar
Intake Coordinator
Sherwin Villar is a medical assistant who transitioned into the role of an intake coordinator at Sage Care Health System. Her journey into healthcare began after four years of serving as a caregiver, where she developed a profound passion for promoting wellness and providing compassionate care to others. Inspired by her experiences, Sherwin pursued a career in medical assisting, driven by a desire to continue making a positive impact in the lives of patients.
Anya Claire
Registered Nurse
Anya is a registered nurse with 14 years of experience working in hospitals and Cardiology clinics. She graduated with honors from California State University San Marcos with a bachelor’s in nursing. Anya also was always interested in a holistic approach and worked at an IV vitamins hydration clinic and skin care.
Anya joined Sage Health System in search of combining her traditional medical experience with a holistic and alternative approach.
Anya believes that prevention is the key to better health and well-being. She is passionate about promoting preventative measures to avoid diseases and optimize the well-being of others.
Markathrine Teng
HR Support & Caregiver
Markathrine Teng was born in the year 2000 and She pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Majoring in Legal Management, from University of Santo Tomas where she graduated Cum Laude. This academic achievement not only reflects her commitment to her studies but also her capability to succeed amidst rigorous academic demands.
During her internship, She immersed herself in the bustling environment of the Public Attorney’s Office in Quezon City, gaining first hand insight into the intricacies of legal aid and public defense. She is driven to continue developing professionally and aspiring to contribute meaningfully to society.
